Our first winter on the farm was awesome.
Filled with many visits from friends and family, we tapped 30 trees and tried to produce our first maple syrup. Some of the first 30 trees we tapped weren’t the right kinds of maples, but now we’ve got it.
Our maple syrup has a distinct corn/honey taste. It’s delicious. I’m definitely biased – I know how much work went into each and every last little drop.
Other activities included: snowshoeing, snowball fights, and cookouts galore (if I never see another marshmallow it will be too soon).
Now we are working away planning for spring. Stay tuned!
